Dear Friends,

The buzz about Pema Chödrön’s upcoming three-day retreat in Richmond, California, started happening as soon as news of the rare event got out, and it’s been sold out for quite some time. But the good news is that Pema and her co-teacher, Carolyn Gimian, have collaborated with us to make the retreat available online so that you can join in no matter where you’re located. And when you participate in this “virtual” retreat, you’ll retain access to videos of the teachings and other essential materials too:

Smile at Fear: Finding a True Heart of Bravery
A Weekend Retreat via Live Stream and On-demand Video
October 15–17 2010

The Smile at Fear retreat is a rare opportunity to practice and study with Pema in real time, as she teaches wisdom learned from her own teacher, Chögyam Trungpa. Using his book of the same title, she shows how to approach the things that scare us in a radically different way than we’re accustomed to, and in doing so to discover how astonishingly insignificant fear really is—and how surprisingly simple it is to access the heart of fearlessness. These are Buddhist teachings and practices that can become resources for a lifetime.

It begins on Friday, October 15, at 7pm PST and ends on Sunday, October 17, at 5pm PST. Click here for the full schedule and details about how to sign up.
