About the Author

Robert Beer has studied and practiced Tibetan thangka painting for more than forty years, and was one of the first Westerners to become actively involved in this art form. Over the last sixteen years he has been working with the Newar artists of the Kathmandu Valley to assemble a large collection of their finest deity compositions, many of which appear on his website. He lives in Oxford, England, and apart from his continuing work with Indo-Tibetan iconography, he is now passionately involved in researching near-death experiences and the afterlife.
