Elizabeth Hamilton teaches and lives at the Zen Center of San Diego with her husband and practice partner, Ezra Bayda. She leads retreats and Zen programs throughout the United States and Hawaii, Australia, and Canada, including leading a retreat with Pema Chödrön and Ezra Bayda at Gampo Abbey in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. She has published numerous articles and dharma teachings under the pen name M. T. Head.

About the Author
Elizabeth Hamilton entered Zen practice in 1975 at the Zen Center of Los Angeles, studying for many years with Hakuyu Taizan Maezumi Roshi. Later she studied with Charlotte Joko Beck Sensei at Zen Center San Diego, where she started teaching in 1992, the same year she and Rosa Parks cofounded the West Coast Rosa Parks Institute. In 1994 she received dharma transmission from Joko Beck. With practice-partner/husband Ezra Bayda, also a Shambhala Publications author, she leads retreats in the United States and abroad. She also offers meditation groups and retreats at San Diego Hospice and fulfills interfaith chaplaincy responsibilities in various venues.
