About Author

Kimberley Snow, PhD, is a prize-winning playwright, former chef, and university teacher. She currently serves as the program director and workshop leader for the Santa Barbara Institute for Consciousness Studies, founded by B. Alan Wallace. She and her husband, the poet Barry Spacks, teach workshops on writing and meditation. In spring 2011, she and Dr. Radhule Weininger began to teach a workshop series entitled “Cultivating Emotional Balance through Mindfulness,” which will continue as an ongoing yearly offering for both beginning and advanced groups.

In 1991, she left teaching at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and moved to a Tibetan Buddhist community in Northern California, where she spent the next six years studying with Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche, working in the kitchen, setting up a website for the community, and editing dharma books.
