Susan Piver is a Buddhist teacher and the New York Times best-selling author of six books. A student of Buddhism since 1995, Piver received authorization to teach meditation in the Shambhala Buddhist lineage in 2005. She speaks and teaches workshops throughout the United States on the topics of meditation, spirituality, communication styles, relationships, and creativity.
Piver is a contributor to the Huffington Post, the Shambhala Sun, and DrWeil.com. She is also a frequent guest on network television, having appeared on CNN, The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Today Show, CBS’s The Early Show, and The Tyra Banks Show. Her work has been featured in several prominent publications, including the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Time, Parade, and Money. In 2011, she launched The Open Heart Project to teach anyone with an Internet connection how to meditate. It is now a thriving online community of nearly 5,000 practitioners.
