Cool Reading for a Hot Day: Sweltering Feminist Views of Chögyam Trungpa

July 7, 2010

OK - well that's a bit of an exaggeration or maybe a blending of things. But on this sweltering day in July, two posts that reference Chogyam Trungpa caught my eye.

The first is the Tricycle Editor's Blog. With the temperature expected to hit 103 degrees in New York today, everyone's looking for shelter from the heat. Rachel Hiles refers us to the archives of Tricycle, to an article on tonglen by Judith Simmer Brown, who talks about breathing out "light, bright, and cool" as recommended by her teacher Chögyam Trungpa.

Then I ran across a blog addressing questions of feminism and loving your enemy, entitled "Oscar Grant, Audre Lorde, Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche and the question of loving our enemies." The author quotes heavily from "Working with Negativity" in Myth of Freedom.
