The transmission from teacher to student is very direct. It can only take place when there's no resistance, no home territoriality. Such complete openness comes from developing sympathy and warmth. This kind of openness also contains intelligence. It's like when you open your mouth to receive food. Your mouth is open, but your tongue is still active and you still have the teeth and muscles of your mouth. It has the dynamic qualities of real openness. It is openness with power and energy, rather than just the simple openness of naivete alone.
