With authors like these, this collection of writings fits our world's need for understanding and living the practices of loving kindness. Perspectives on fear and anger, learning how to meditate, and speaking/tweeting no evil all sound like topics we can use in the present.

TASHI DELEK!!!!!!
Posted on August 23, 2012 at 1:54 pm
We educate through our process of opening the heart, sharing as living examples of the goodness of our own natures and the knowing that we are all Buddhas. We all share the Buddha nature inherent in our souls. Our mission is to reveal it and find the capacity to show others through compassion and grace how to tap into their own Buddha nature.
Posted on August 23, 2012 at 2:09 pm
I've considered Pema Chodron a teacher of mine for several years. She has tought me to smile at fear! My Buddhist practice has come far. I began because I have anxiety disorder and agoraphobia. I was seeking something, anything to help me to help myself.
I've found that in Buddhism.
I'm not very familiar with some of the people this book mentions. I'm excited to read it and learn more along my journey in facing this disorder head on while smiling at fear!
Thank you for the opportunity to win this book!

From the notable list of authors I cant tell I would definitely like to read this book! in this way, it recommends itself. My next thought was, - ... and give it as a present to people I know! It would serve equally well for people who are already familiar with Buddhism and friends who are less well prepared.

I read too much Dharma. I know this. Sometimes I need to put the books down and just practice. But the books do lead me there so maybe it's wholesome? At least partly? :)

Sorry, but his Holiness the Dalai Lama is the only real Buddhist on the displayed authors list for the book. If you want to serve the Buddhist community you need to maintain purity in your publishing. a "Best Buddhist Writing" book should be by Buddhist writers and not Pop Culture writers.
Posted on August 27, 2012 at 1:37 pm
The Shambhala Sun and Buddhadarma are staples at my house. I enjoy everything that you put into print. This book sounds like a wonderful addition to your fine works.

I am new to using Buddhist methods to help control panic and depression issues. I have been able to reduce my panic attacks by practicing staying in the moment and breathing. I find that reading Buddhist materials and applying them to my life has also been helpful for my depression. This book would be a blessing for me. Thank you for the chance to receive this gift.
