Let one who seeks not stop
3. [Jesus says], “Let one who [seeks] not stop [seeking until] one finds. When one finds, [one will be astonished, and having been] astonished, one will reign, and [having reigned], one will [rest].” (Greek Gospel of Thomas saying 2, in Papyrus Oxyrhynchus 654.5–9)
Fortunate are you, Mary
81. Peter said to Mary, “Sister, we know that the savior loved you more than any other woman. Tell us the words of the savior that you remember, that you know but we do not, nor have we heard them.”
Mary answered and said, “What is hidden from you I shall relate to you.”
And she began to speak these words to them: “As for me,” she said, “I saw the master in a vision and I said to him, ‘Master, today I saw you in a vision.’ He answered and said to me, ‘Fortunate are you for not wavering at seeing me. For where the mind is, there is the treasure.’” (Gospel of Mary 10, 1–16)
Love life
102. “Listen to the word, understand knowledge, love, life, and no one will persecute you and no one will oppress you, other than you yourselves.” (Secret Book of James 9, 18–23)
Offering wisdom
187. Jesus said, “Do not offer wisdom to those who are not worthy of it, or you might harm it, and do not withhold it from those who are worthy of it, or you might harm them. Be like a gentle doctor who puts the medicine on the diseased spot. Whoever offers wisdom to those who are not worthy of it is a fool, and whoever withholds it from those who are worthy of it is an evildoer. Wisdom has rights and rightful owners, so give each what is appropriate.” (al-Ghazzali, Revival of Religious Sciences, 1.30)
