Find out more here.

The primary focus of this weekend module is: to review sports, occupational risks and injuries and how yoga can help in the assessment of risk, prevention of injury and alleviation of symptoms when injury occurs. We will review the top sports and work related injuries that a yoga therapist is likely to encounter in their practice. There will be practical exercises in evaluating clients and developing yoga protocols to improve function and return to sports or work.

Common sports and workplace related injuries that students will explore include:

  • Ankle Sprains and Strains
  • Rotator Cuff Tendonitis
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Back Pain

The full weekend intensive is designed for yoga teachers or students with a serious yoga practice and background. In an Open Sunday Workshop with the public, we will apply what we have learned and explore some of the essential elements of the weekend material.

Niroga weekend intensives are part the Niroga Yoga Therapist Training. The weekend trainings are offered as advanced training modules for experienced yoga teachers, health care professionals, and serious yoga students who want to enhance their knowledge and skills in specific areas. You do not have to be enrolled in the Yoga Therapy Program to take any of the weekend intensives offered throughout the year.
