Yoga Nidra for Deep Relaxation and Awakened Clarity

These practices are designed to help guide and prepare you to receive the state and grace of yoga nidra. Each practice will move you from the grossest layer of your being to the most subtle, starting with Practice One, which focuses on the relaxation of the physical body, and progressing to Practice Six, which focuses on true freedom. You can follow along in the book starting in part three.

Spend time with these practices. Every time you commit to one, you will learn more about yourself: how your breath changes when you are relaxed, which position is most comfortable, which props you really need, where you are holding tension, which recurring thoughts prevent you from relaxing, and what it feels like to “drop in deeply.” The fruit of all your previous practices is invaluable and will inform your next practice. Taking time to keep a journal will activate your smirti shakti (power of retention and memory) and allow you to develop more self-knowledge.

Consistent practice, whether you are a teacher or a seeker, will help you awaken to your deepest truth and knowing. It is with that wish that I offer these practices to you.
