Hozan Alan Senauke
Hozan Alan Senauke, abbot of Berkeley Zen Center, is well-known for decades of work in engaged Buddhism. Having served with a number of national and international service organizations, he founded and runs the Clear View Project, a nonprofit directly supporting humanitarian projects in Myanmar, India, and Bangladesh. Alan is the author of Heirs to Ambedkar, The Bodhisattva’s Embrace, and other books. A musician rooted in traditional forms, Senauke has released multiple Buddhistic albums, including Everything Is Broken and Wooden Man.
