Book description

Blending traditional yoga with Eastern healing practices, beloved yoga teacher Sarah Powers offers a holistic approach to lifelong health, balance, and emotional clarity. This edition features a new preface, an expanded section on mindfulness of feelings, and an updated resource list.

Acclaimed yoga and meditation teacher Sarah Powers shares her distinctive approach, Insight Yoga, which combines traditional yoga with the meridian system of Chinese medicine and Buddhist mindfulness meditation.

Drawing on the Yin Yoga approach popularized by Paul Grilley, Powers presents a variety of sequences that balance Yin (passive) and Yang (active) poses to support healthy organs, muscles, joints, and tendons—and to calm and focus the mind. She pairs these practices with guidance in traditional Chinese medicine principles and mindfulness meditation. Through photographed sequences that blend slow, steady stretches with dynamic movement, Powers invites readers on an inspiring inner journey toward lasting physical well-being and emotional clarity.
