Li Po

Li Po (701–762) was one of the principal figures of the great flowering of poetry that took place during the Tang dynasty. The poems of Li Po are among the most influential Chinese literary works in the West, having been much translated, including by Ezra Pound, Amy Lowell, Burton Watson, and David Hinton. Some of his verses were famously set to music by Gustav Mahler in his great symphonic work Das Lied von der Erde.
