Chan Master Sheng Yen

Chan Master Sheng Yen (1930–2009) was a widely respected Taiwanese Chan (Chinese Zen) master who taught extensively in the West during the last thirty-one years of his life, with twenty-one centers throughout North America, as well as dozens of others throughout the world. He co-led retreats with the Dalai Lama, and he is the author of numerous books in Chinese and English, including Song of Mind, The Method of No-Method, and his autobiography, Footprints in the Snow.

Thich Nhat Hanh
A Vietnamese Zen Buddhist monk, Thich Nhat Hanh (1926–2022) was an internationally renowned author, poet, scholar, and peace activist, and was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by Martin Luther King Jr. He is the author of numerous books, including the best-selling Living Buddha, Living Christ; Anger: Wisdom for Cooling the Flames; Peace Is Every Step; and The Miracle of Mindfulness. He was the leader of monastic communities in New York, California, France, Germany, Hong Kong, and Vietnam, and his teachings have inspired several hundred local groups of lay practitioners across the United States, Latin America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Oceania.
