ABOUT THIS COURSE

For centuries, the great masters of Tibet have looked to dreams as potent tools for spiritual transformation. While many psychologists today look to dreams for insight into the unconscious mind, Tibetans have relied on dreams not just to explore their mind but as profound vehicles for awakening. Dream Yoga is far more than a tool to decode and analyze the personal unconsciousness. It’s an approach aimed at piercing through illusion to heal emotions, transform negative thought and behavior patterns, find clarity, and directly recognize the pure, luminous nature of mind.

The Tibetan Yogas of Dream and Sleep Online Retreat is the perfect stepping stone for learning the fundamentals of this long-held Tibetan tradition from a genuine teacher, Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche. Through this course, you will gain a foundational foothold in this ancient practice.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

Throughout this 4-week immersive retreat, you’ll explore the ancient Tibetan yogic teachings of dream and sleep with Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche.

Structured around eight video lessons composed of short, focused teachings and guided practice, this course is designed to be experiential rather than purely philosophical. Each teaching session provides gradual steps and exercises, allowing practitioners to learn each phase of Dream Yoga in a natural, progressive manner. You’ll begin by learning four foundational practices of Dream Yoga preparing you to successfully train in the main practice.

pagoda

Changing karmic traces

through becoming aware of your sensory perceptions and continuously reminding yourself of the dreamlike nature of reality

gankyil (1)

Removing grasping and aversion

by bringing awareness to your emotional responses throughout the day and returning to spaciousness

conch-shell

Strengthening your intention

each night before sleep

endless-knot (1)

Cultivating memory and joyful effort

Deepen your meditation practice

by extending it into the night

After training in the four foundational practices, you’ll move on to the main practice, where you’ll learn to bring awareness into the central channel and prepare your body and mind each night before going to sleep. During the main part, you’ll focus on increasing four positive qualities: peacefulness, expansiveness, strengthening presence, and fearlessness. Plus, you’ll learn about different types of dreams, potential obstacles, physical and emotional healing in dreams, and how to increase clarity.

PRAISE FOR TENZIN WANGYAL RINPOCHE

“Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche has secured his place as the preeminent voice in the world of dream yoga. I refer to his expertise more than any other author and have read this classic book—now wonderfully updated—countless times. He continues to inspire me with the clarity of his insight, the depth of his wisdom, and the warmth of his heart. If you only read one book on the nocturnal meditations, this is it.”

—Andrew Holecek, author of Dreams of Light: The Profound Daytime Practice of Lucid Dreaming

“This is an appealing book not only for Buddhist dream yoga practitioners but for anyone interested in the whole area of lucid dreaming or dream work. The Tibetan syllables and the places they are to be visualized within the body are clearly illustrated; the practical instructions are well-placed within a theoretical framework; and the entire work has the flavour of direct oral teaching from an expert.”

—The Tibet Journal

“Powerful methods for progressing along the path for liberation.”

—The Indian International Journal of Buddhist Studies
