Snow Lion Publications has been established to protect and further Tibet's great religious and philosophic traditions. Although this rich cultural heritage is threatened within Tibet itself, its importance and uniqueness is being enthusiastically recognized by a growing number of people around the world.

Our goals are to provide handsome, relevant and informative books for the general reader, as well as authoritative, scholarly presentations and translations of seminal texts within the complete Tibetan meditation and scholastic tradition. All Snow Lion publications are translated with thoroughness and precision by highly qualified scholar-translators working in conjunction with lamas recognized for their special understanding of each text. The English renderings are true to the originals in letter and spirit.

In addition to publishing and distributing philosophic and religious works, we offer books on Tibetan medicine, art, history, biography and language, and reproductions of authentic and inspirational an work such as cards, posters and calendars.

To ensure a representative selection of books for practitioners and scholars from all four sects of Tibetan Buddhism, and to provide the-most comprehensive resource for those interested in Tibetan culture, we welcome manuscripts from lamas and teachers of all sects and from Western scholars and practitioners. As you will see from our catalogue, we distribute a great number of excellent and hard-to-find texts from many different sources. We are also looking for other books, pamphlets, visual dharma, etc.so if you can recommend items for us to offer to our international audience of Dharma practitioners and scholars, we would appreciate hearing from you.
