Buddhanature, or tathagatagarbha, not only plays an essential role in the Mahāyāna world-view, but is encompassed within a large textual corpus stemming from Indian Buddhism, the most famous of them being the Uttaratantraśāstra, or Sublime Continuum, written by Asanga and imparted by Arya Maitreya. The key point of all such texts are that while the minds sentient beings have long been obscured by habitual thinking, their fundamental, changeless nature is perfect buddhahood. We are delighted to share with you the many traditional commentaries and modern explanations of buddhanature by authors such as Longchenpa, Karmpa Rangjung Dorje, Jamgon Kongtrul Lodro Taye, Karl Brunnhölzl and more.

Nothing whatsoever is to be removed.

Not the slightest thing is to be added.

Truly looking at truth, truth is seen.

When seen, this is complete liberation.

Glimpses of Mahamudra

Glimpses of Mahamudra

Mahamudra is a meditation tradition within tantric Buddhism that points to the nature of awareness itself, elevating our ordinary perception to the level of the sacred. In this view, all experiences arise from a mind that is naturally vast, empty, and luminous.
